Win $3000 with Your Pet-Themed Book
Karen Nichols

As you know, I’m a big fan of Blurb. Its software enables you to create coffee table quality books, and you can also import content from blogs — purrfect if you’re memorializing a pet who’s gone to the Bridge.

Earlier this year, a group of 100 Catsters collaborated on a Blurb book to memorialize Scooter. It was a very special project because it was community-based, and everyone who’s seen the book has raved about it.

If you’ve been thinking about creating a book based on your pets, now’s the time. The Best Blurb Books Contest is accepting submissions through October 22. Enter your photo book in one of three categories – family, pets, or travel – for your shot at one of three $3,000 grand prizes, or one of three $1,000 runner-up prizes. There’s no entry fee – just the cost of ordering a single book – and you can enter as many books as you like.

Once you’ve ordered, the real fun begins. On October 23, voting opens to the public. That means you’ll want to get your friends, family, neighbors, Facebook friends, Twitter followers and anyone else in your entourage to get out and rock the vote, for your book. Once the votes are in, one judge in each category will select a winner and a runner-up.

If you’re planning on making a holiday gift book anyway, this contest is really a no-brainer – and an extra $3,000 might just come in handy this holiday season, no?

    Woohoo! That’s quite a prize!

My mom will verify how nice Blurb books are. Well, she has only seen one of their books… the tribute book for me… and she may be a little prejudiced about how nice it is. The big coffee-table size book is wonderful!!

THANK YOU, Karen Nichols, for putting the book together and THANK YOU to all the Catster friends who contributed to the book. Mom’s still finding it a little hard to look through the entire book at one time, but highly recommends memorializing your beloved pet who has gone on to the Bridge or those whom you’re still blessed to have with you. Winning a prize would be a great added bonus!

I didn’t realize we could view the entire book online, though — I thought we could only see the first few pages. Thank you for the link.

    love and purrs to all,
    Scooter

I hope Scootie’s Mom enters her book in the contest! Thanks for the info!

Only thing that I wish Blurb had is an ability to have multiple people work on a project over the net.

We are very happy though with the quality of the books. Sheila Wedegis has done a couple Labrador related books that are amazing. She uses them to help raise funds for Animal Rescue organizations.
