HOMER Do you feel an intense set of eyes on you? Homer must be in the room! He’s like a shy sphinx, always watching his visitors from way up high in the rafters, as though he can see right through them and into their deepest hearts. JINX What happened to his little nose?
It’s a terrible thing. When he was living out at a shelter in Nevada that had fallen into neglect, Jinx developed skin cancer, and it just progressed and progressed under the hot sun. By the time he was rescued, it was too late for his little face ever to be the same again!
And he’s such a nice cat, too. He loves to be petted, and he’s only about two years old. A little shy about being picked up, and a little bashful around other cats, but with love and care, he’d be sure to blossom in a home, getting more confident about being held, as well as feeling more sure around the other cats (if there happened to be a couple.) He’s just hoping his funny-looking face won’t mean he’ll never get the chance!

SCOOTER Scooter was born without back legs. But he’s a happy guy … especially when he gets visitors! Hey evrybuddy, Skeezix heer. Today I’m showcasing two members of the Catster and Dogster Marketplaces: Morgan the Pirate Gato, and Takoda. Each of them are rescue animals that survived life-thretening situations, and they established thare Etsy Shops to finance thare exorbitant vet bills.
Morgan(right) is a permanent rescue adoptee from Save a Sato. He is a rare juvenile diabetic kitten, born with bilateral cataracts. Morgan had cataract surjery at Cornell University, and he continues to deel with his diabetes and other helth issues. “Morgan’s Beds” was created to pay for his constant medical care. Many of my Catster frends have Morgan Beds, and they LOVE them! Morgan’s Beds are machine washable.

Here is Morgan’s Story:
When Morgan was diagnosed here in the states, his future seemed very dim. The words complicated case, and not a normal life were repeated over and over. But thanks to an incredible Vet – Dr Nero at the Cat Clinic in Danbury, CT who believed in Morgan, he’s beaten all the odds against him. He’s made amazing progress, he gets stronger and healthier every day. Morgan just had rare cataract surgery at Cornell Veterinary School on January 17, 2007. His eyes are clear, bright and shiny. He is finally almost healed and becoming something we never realised he wasn’t – a normal cat. He loves to play with his siblings and his toys now, lounge in the sun, and for the first time in his life watches the birds. Morgan was 3 years old on 09/08/08 – it’s a huge celebration! He survived all the odds, thrived and become an amazing happy cat. Morgan is a true miracle!

Dobermans, was to father puppies, so the people who owned us could make money. They didn’t care about us and we were kept in cages that we could barely turn around in, weren’t fed much, never saw a Vet and had no interaction with people. Then they decided we were no longer of any use and they were going to turn us over to a Kill Shelter.
A nice lady at a Rescue Group heard about that and told them she would take us all. We all were skinny and sick, with internal parasites and heart worms, but she took us to the Vet, had us treated for our parasites and heart worms and we were put up for adoption. My Dobie friends were adopted but it seems I had a problem- Sometime in that hellish existence I went blind. (Maybe it was from the time we had an ice storm and since we were kept outside, I ended up frozen to my cage but it was most likely caused by severe head trauma)

and it seemed like we doggies were good for leading people around but nobody wanted to have to lead me. That was until my new mommy and daddy heard about me and saw my story on line. They had to send their Dobie on his journey to the Rainbow Bridge last August and, since they love us Furbabies, they decided to give me a Home. I really want it to be my Furever Home but it seems I have another problem. I have a rare form of diabetes, Diabetes Insipidus, and I need to take medicine every day. That medicine is real expensive and, since my new mommy and daddy want to keep me, all the money from the sale of these dog, and kitty, portraits is going in a fund for my medicine.
