Salute to Samoa, Violet, Calvin and Family
Some of our oldest and best Catster friends are Samoa, Violet, Calvin and Autumn (a Dogster, who went to the Bridge last year). Since we’ve known them, their ranks have expanded to include Rocky (a geezer Dogster), Gleek, Spunky, Sugar and Newman.
Last night, Samoa and the Gang won a couple of prizes in the Cat Blogosphere Halloween Contest, and I wanted to take this opportunity to not only acknowledge their win, but also to acknowledge the extraordinary effort the entire family puts into every holiday. For example, as their Halloween entry, they dressed up as Snow White and Seven Dwarfs. Yes, folks, that involved getting 7 cats and a dog dressed and photographed.

Knowing how difficult it is to get 2 or 3 cats into costumes and photographed, I salute them for all the work that goes into their efforts. You guys rock!
As each new holiday approaches, I’m always eager to see what this family will be wearing to celebrate. Today was no exception. Right on schedule, their Catster profiles have already been updated with an Autumn/Thanksgiving theme. My favorite might be Calvin’s Indian Princess costume!
If these cool cats look familiar, you may have run across them while voting in the World’s Coolest Cat Show on Catster. Which is my cue to remind you that you have only 13 days left to enter and vote!
Holy Catster – what a nice surprise and honor to be featured on the blog today! It brought tears – thank you so much! I love Catster, and the many wonderful friends we have made over the years. It has brought me closer to my pets, and given me a wonderul hobby. We always strive to come close to what Mercy’s family accomplishes. Most cooperate pretty well, but timing is everything – and I’ve discovered that close to naptime is the best photographing time! Thanks again for making my day special!

My Bestest Friend Violet is featured in the Cat’s Meow!!! I salute Samoa, Violet, Calvin, Gleek, Spunky, Sugar, Newman and their Mawmee for their win in the Halloween Contest and for what great friends they are to so many catsters and dogsters. Yay!! Samoa and crew are super fantastic. They administer many groups here and always make them fun.

Their costumes are amazingly creative and the seven kitties and woofie look so adorable and relaxed. And, Calvin’s Indian princess costume is awesome. Their efforts bring joy to so many of us.

Calvin was also one of our first friends on Catster, and we’ve always admired his family.
His parents have done some amazing rescues, and even when tragedy and heartache has hit them, they’ve still kept an amazing positive attitude and put their hearts and souls into helping others.
We are so proud to have the honor of calling them friends!
And please check out the Calvin’s Beds (Cat in the Clover) on Etsy – our doggy Gypsy has one and she loves it! The proceeds go to helping keep up the Chemo treatments which are very very expensive!
Skeezy, thanks for your salute to Samoa, Calvin and all the other Strickland cats/dogs and humans! We love these guys and consider them one of the first families of Catster. They are great friends to everycat and we love them. Hurrah for Samoa, Calivn and the rest of the family!
