Reward up to $2000 for Info in Duct-Taped Cat Case
Karen Nichols

sticky

The tabby who was mummified in duct tape and unceremoniously dumped in a yard in the 2200 block of Edgley Street in North Philadelphia has had the duct tape removed, and is doing very well. Despite her ordeal, she has exhibited affectionate and playful behavior with the staff of the Pennsylvania SPCA.

Liz Williamson of the PSPCA reports that “She’s doing great. She is really happy and playful, which leads us to believe she came from a household”.

“This is a very very very sweet cat,” George Bengal, of the PSPCA, told Fox News. “I can’t imagine someone doing this to this cat. I mean, this is a domestic cat. Obviously, it was owned, it can be handled very easily.”

The cat cannot be adopted until sufficient time has been given for the cats owners to come forward. The owners are not believed to be the perpertrator of this crime.

Donations have poured in, reflecting the public’s outrage at this act of cruelty. The reward is now $2000 for information leading to the conviction of the person(s) responsible for taping and dumping the cat. Anyone with information on the crime should contact the SPCA’s Cruelty Hotline on 1-866-601-7722.

Hi Skeezy, What sick people in this world! When they catch the person(s), they should duct tape them up for about a month and see how they enjoy it. With a large reward like offered, someone will talk and those responsible will get caught and pay for their cruel deeds. Bosco.

We have been watching this kitty on the local news all week. She is so nice and looks to be doing really well now. This incident is just sickening- what is wrong with people??

I hope they really screen anyone who comes forward saying they are the owners. I don’t know how they can say the owners are not the perpertrator – there are a lot of mean people out there, and some of them own pets!

What a horrible thing. I am glad that so many kind people are out there to help. Who thinks of these things?

This made mommy so mad she wanted to go and find that monster and duct tape him/her! But she did donate some money to the PSPCA to add to the reward money – The one thing that DID make her smile was the name STICKY I had a sister named Sticky!

We hope that the nasty person who did this is caught and mummified in duct tape!

How horrid! How can people be so mean? We’re glad Sticky is doing well.

Holy carp. When they find who did this I hope they slap duct tape on his nads and then rip it off… Very very glad they were able to get the tape off and that she’s doing ok.

I am glad they sedated her to take the tape off. That was not mentioned in the first news report, and I couldn’t imagine how painful it was for her. And I think her name should be changed, because why memorialize the worst day of her life?

So many stories in the news of folks mistreating cats. This story is especially upsetting… :-(

I advocate the death penalty for anyone found guilty of wilfully mistreating a cat. Period. Let’s get this #*@ and make it a day they NEVER forget. Their LAST.

One problem with your suggestion, Max . . . anyone who would do this to a sweet, defenseless kitty DOESN’T HAVE ANY!

OMC ! That poor kitty. Whoever did that should have it done to them ! I sure hope anyone interested get’s screened and then checked on after they get the kitty.

I heard about this on my local news. I live in southern New Jersey. I find this person sick and twisted. I hope something horrible happens to the person that hurt the poor cat. There are a few occasions where I wish vigilante justice was ok.

What is wrong with people today? I agree with Bosco, when they catch this creep, duct tape him (or her) up and see how they feel. Poor kitty, we’re so happy to hear that despite this cruelity, she is still loving and trusting of people. We hope she finds her furever home with someone who will keep her safe from the scum of this world.

We all here are still watching the news (we are near Philly) hoping to here they caught who did this! If it wasnt in such a scary neighborhood mommy would have gone out there looking for that monster! and tape him/her up to a pole and leave them there – Our paws are crossed they catch them!
Please guys send in some money (even a dollar or two from everyone adds up! we send money) to the PSPCA.org and raise that reward! the more money the more apdt they WILL catch them

And Ashley we agree with you TOTALLY!
