Outlaw Bikers Come to the Rescue of Cats in Need
With their slogan, “Abusers are Losers,” a fearsome-looking group of tattooed bikers is not what you’d expect to see rescuing kittens and cats. But this group of tough guys does just that for Rescue Ink™ , helping out when shelters and rescue organizations don’t have the bandwidth to do so.
Here’s what they say about their work:
We formed Rescue Ink™ because the problem of animal abuse and neglect has grown beyond the resources of the existing animal welfare agencies. We love the work done by some of the local shelters, but they cannot possibly keep pace with the volume of problems that need to be addressed.
That’s where Rescue Ink™ comes in. We will stop at nothing within the bounds of the law to protect animals at risk. We will intercede without hesitation when we are informed of a situation that needs to be addressed, and we will address it. If we need to convince people to do the right thing … we can be very convincing, we’ll even buy animals if that’s what it takes to get them away from abusers.
Rescue Ink™ is all about zero tolerance when it comes to animal abuse and neglect. Our ranks are growing every day, as Americans from coast to coast are reaching out to join in our efforts. If you know something we should know, give us a call… NOW!
Most recently, they have been helping to evacuate a group of 180 cats from a hoarding situation in Moriches, Long Island. The case was turned over to them by another rescue agency. The home’s resident gave up the animals willingly, saying she realized she couldn’t afford to feed the cats and didn’t know how she ended up with so many.

Rescue Ink volunteer Robert Misseri doesn’t believe it was a hoarding case. “This was an upper-middle class neighborhood, with a nice family who had their own business. They went on hard times, and the home went under foreclosure. They can’t afford to take care of these animals.”
It all started with two unfixed family cats, which multiplied over the years. The family means well, Misseri says, and will not be charged with animal abuse. Though none of the cats were vaccinated or spayed/neutered, they were all in good health. Initially, they rescued kittens and pregnant mothers, and removal efforts will continue for another three weeks until all cats are relocated. They will need time to find both vets willing to work pro bono and foster homes.
If you check out the bios of Rescue Ink’s volunteers, you’ll see photos of guys who frankly, look a little scary. But read their bios, and you’ll find a group of caring, tender-hearted men whose lifelong love for animals led inevitably to Rescue Ink. Dontcha just wanna give them a big hug?

Once again proves that you really can’t judge a book by it’s cover. These guys are doing great and it would be nice if other followed in their example. Way to go!
Terrific story! I love that they can be very persuasive. Good job guys! We need folks like you on the side of animals.
We’re laughing at their persuasion! Good job guys. We’ve read about them before but we love that they are rescuing animals and break some stereo types! Tough Guys love Animals!
They sound like the kind of friends us animal need, just in case anything bad goes down! We too love how they are breaking the biker stereotype. There are a lot of bikers out there that do an awful lot of good for their communities & organizations. Our collars are off to them all!
I think that is totally awesome. One thing Mom and Dad have learned is to not judge by outward appearances. Actually, it seems like the guys who look the toughest have the softest hearts! Keep up the great work!
These guys rock! I’ll bet they have some cat tattoos! Batso kinda scares me – MOL!
my grandmeowmy runs a rescue and adoption group in San Diego, CA and the owner of a the “Sweetwater Harley Davidson” store did a 4th of July Ride and gave the proceeds to her rescue group “Loving Arms Animal Rescue & Adoption”! Tough guys really can be sweet hearts!
Why does the article begin with the word “Outlaw”? I’m missing where tehy are outlaws and using that term implies this is wrong, when it is totally right!!!
My heart is melting! Never judge a book by it’s cover or in this case, a guy buy his ink! COOL!
These guys are my heroes.
See! Now that’s what I’m talking about!!! Way to go, guys/gals. You rock!
Good job bikers!! Loved the article Skeezix! And loved the stroller pictures on your other blog.

Today is my human grandaddy’s birthday (my mom’s daddy). He was a biker and also an animal lover. In the saddlebags of his bike (and the backseat of his car) he carried food and water for animals he met.
He also fed and cared for a group of feral cats.
He’s gone now and we miss him very very much =(
Rest in Peace grandaddy…
Real men spay and neuter their pets! They spay the females and since real men understand how babies are made… they make sure their male pets are neutered!
Rock on Guys!!
I love the photo of the big burly man with the teeny tiny kitten. Real men DO love cats!
You guys rock! Keep up the good work! There should be more people like you.
What lovely men!!!
These guys are great! They remind me of the “Cat Man” at the shelter where my human volunteered (and discovered me!). He looked scary and my human was a bit apprehensive of him at first, until she saw how caring he was of the cats and how much the other volunteers respected him. He came every night to take care of the ferals around the shelter, and they would follow the Cat Man wherever he went on the property. In the bad weather, he would also let them into his car once he got to the shelter, and there would be kitties all over his dashboard and car seats! My human discovered that he was a bit shy but would open up and talk nonstop when asked how the ferals were doing. We learned that good hearts live in all kinds of bodies!
