These are funny and cute to watch, but I’m afraid it might give viewers at home a bad idea and they may try it. This should come with a DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME warning. A cat could seriously get hurt should the basket tip or the cat try to jump out along the way

I agree with Jack and also the string on the baskets didn’t look strong enough to my mum and she was afraid it would break in mid air.

OMC!!! We wouldn’t let mum do that to us. Mum said she wouldn’t anyway cuz she’d be too scared the basket would tip or we would try and jump out.

Back when we were living in a two story house, Dad told Momma that she should do this for us, but Momma said that if we couldn’t climb the stairs, then we didn’t need to be upstairs, so she wouldn’t do it. It is funny to watch though.

Mommie says that looks scary to her. She would be afraid of losing the kittie in mid-air!!!

Oh, my, I would surely blow chunks out of one of these.

I sure hope they have some strong rope on those baskets. It would take a forklift to get Gleek up! I agree that we would be afraid the cat would try to jump out if he got scared.

These cats are used to it and trained, so there’s probably not much danger for them. I wouldn’t try it with just any cat though!

And Harry would break the basket – never mind the string/rope.

I think only one of my babies would be smart enough to learn this.

My Momcat would never try this, she would be afraid of the string breaking or me jumping out in mid air, thank God they didn’t!!

  12. BeckyH posted a comment on September 7th, 2009 at 11:53 am

I wonder how long it took them to get used to being in the basket?

  13. Biscuit posted a comment on September 7th, 2009 at 11:56 am

That is WAY cool! Of course they should be more enclosed with only a small entrance (and a secure lift cable) and the kitty should be fully trained….but it’s COOL!

I’d have ridden in one in a split second.

I want a real elevator. Those kitties sure knew what to do like they had been doing it for a long time. I like to go for rides on the small rugs around the house but that is about it.

    Looks fun to us!!!!!

Those cats must be pretty light or average. My mom and dad would have to build a pulley system to pull my 19 pounds up! MOL

  17. DaisyMae Maus & the Feline Americans posted a comment on September 7th, 2009 at 6:22 pm

Well … That’s not happenin’ at MY house ‘cuz Mom’d never let us outside to begin with an’ we are only in a one story house. The Feline Americans are safe from elevators!

    ok, that’s spoiled….cute, but spoiled

MOL!! We are laughing so hard at those videos!! Mom doesn’t think she would try it with me. I wouldn’t know to get in the basket then she’d be afraid I would jump out and hurt myself.

  20. Little Doll posted a comment on September 7th, 2009 at 11:04 pm

I’d be too afraid that my kitties would jump out half way and and hurt themselves.

  21. Jake and Bathsheba posted a comment on September 8th, 2009 at 5:21 pm

Cool! But I ‘ll stick with the stairs. I don’t think that I would cooperate, and Mom would be very nervous that I would jump out while being hoisted.

I agree with Miles. These cats are probably trained to do this.

Mommy would not do this with us anyway. We’re ok learners, and she figures one of us might even enjoy it, but we don’t really live anywhere it would be safe for us to be outside period, let alone be whisked up in a cat elevator. :(
