53 days after escaping at a Cheyenne, WY truck stop, Millie the Cat has been reunited with her family, thanks to her ID tags.

In September, the Schnieber family lost Millie at the Flying J truck stop when she leaped from the back window. After an extensive search, the family returned to their home in New Mexico.

The Schneibers had given up hope, but two months later, they got the phone call. Millie had been found, buried in the snowbank on the side of a highway. Her rescuer, Scott Alexander, saw her back paw move slightly. He and his family dug her out.

“At that time, we saw just her back paw move just a little bit, and I said, ‘Oh my gosh, she’s alive,’” Alexander said. “Her body felt like an ice cube. Nothing worked … I didn’t think she would make it.”

Alexander adds that when she woke up, Millie was blind and would run into things. “She was very uncoordinated. But as you can see, she’s back!”

Don’t ever forget, pawrents, on a long drive keep your furry ones safe in a carrier or in a harness on a leash. That is one lucky little cat!

    Oh, thank God!

And yes, it’s best to KEEP YOUR CATS INDOORS ONLY where they will be safe! ;)

What a lovely miracle; I’m very happy for them.

Never give up! That’s our philosophy, too, after having a cat lost in the 79 acres around our rural house for 5 days during two sleeting storms and two rainy nights, too!

I became lost, many years ago, in Lake Havasu, Az. (My Momma lived in Calif) and because I had an ID tag, and Momma had reported me missing to the local Humane Society, about 6 weeks later, I was reunited with my Momma!
Also, once, a long time ago, Momma lost another Black Kitty, named “Phoebe” on the night before Thanksgiving, during a snowstorm. (Somehow, Phoebe got going the “opposite” direction fromhome, and became lost)
That was, of course, in November. The following APRIL, Momma decided to go to the Tacoma (Wash) Humane Society shelter, with the intentions of getting a puppy, but was somehow “drawn” to the room for Cats, instead.
There, she was checking out a kitty on the lower row, when there was a “tapping” on top of her head, by a paw.
She looked up, and saw a Black Kitten, slightly older than Phoebe had been, when she became lost. Momma picked the Kitty up out of the cage, and immediately knew it was Phoebe, don’t know how or why, but by some “Miracle”, she had been brought in, the previous day, from someone living about 20 miles away.
Phoebe lived a long and happy life, after that!
And then, the story of our “Moochy” (398034) is another example of someone losing a very beautiful Kitty, and never coming back for her. Their Loss! She is such a smart and loving Cat, and Momma has all but trained the “Pee Problem” away, with gentle kindness, and alot of Snacky~Treats!!
