Judge Slaps Wrist of Cat Killer in Pennsylvania
Karen Nichols

Warning: The following post describes–in general terms–an act of animal cruelty.

On Friday, Pennsylvania Judge Paul Pozonsky sentenced Stanley Sebetich (who resides at 3 Oak Lane, Apt. 3R, Eighty Four PA, 15330) to probation, a ban on living with pets for a scant two years, and a $2500 fine for the killing of his girlfriend’s cat.

Sebetich pleaded guilty to slitting the cat’s throat in a bathtub, after which he skinned it, butchered it, cooked and ate it. Yet, unbelievably, Judge Pozonsky did not impose jail time, mandatory psychiatric treatment or a lifetime pet ban in his sentence.

Animal cruelty is a heinous enough crime in itself, but when the perpetrator is also channeling violence against a woman through the act, it’s almost a foregone conclusion that at some point he will abuse or kill a woman, and certainly, continue to abuse and kill animals. What are the odds that his violent behavior will escalate? And why didn’t he get a lifetime ban on living with pets?

Since I know you’re going to ask, here’s how to contact Judge Pozonsky:

Judge Paul Pozonsky
Washington County Courthouse
1 South Main Street
Suite 1004
Washington, PA 15301
Primary Phone: 724-228-6826

the treatment of that cat is a mark of a serial killer. they’ve been shown to torture/kill small animals (typically cats) before moving on to bigger game (aka humans).

I hope his girlfriend kicked him to the curb. If not, she needs her head examined!

MIttens I agree he is a serial killer in the make.

His stupid girlfriend is next. I hope some one sends him a bomb and it blows his face off!

I have to wonder as well what kind of a person the judge is, to just let this man go with little more than a slap on the wrist. This sick monster deserves to be in jail, but I gather he will be there soon enough. Unfortunately, it’s too bad some other innocent soul will have to suffer at his hand.

It’s a good thing I don’t know where this poor excuse of a human is or I’d be sitting in jail while he was recouperating in a hospital.

Sounds like another Jeff Dahmer in the making. What an idiot that judge is…no jail..no psych ward? What the heck is that guy thinking?
I’m with Oly….only I don’t think he’d be in the hospital…I say the punishment should fit the crime. Do the same to him.

This “punishment” is as much a tragedy as the crime itself. What an awful message it sends to those who would abuse animals and/or commit crimes against humans. Time for this judge to either step into the times, or step down from the bench.

I have to agree with Piewackit, I would be in big trouble because he would be gone!!! And that judge is a sorry excuse for a “human”being.

Yep.. this sick guy is a serial killer in the making. He needs to go to a psychiatric unit.. no question. Or do little kids and women have to get slaughtered like this first?

    Judges are stupid.
Also I blame the US bible-bashing creationist “Humans are Superior” culture.

Absolutely horrible! This sick person deserves to go to jail, with the judge who sentenced him right behind him! What could the judge be thinking? Please write to the judge (there is an address listed above) and let him know in no uncertain terms what he failed to do by such a light sentence. He is putting a probable serial killer loose on the streets!

I wrote a letter to the judge and mailed it today (snail mail.) I hope others of you follow suit. It just takes a few moments to author a statement admonishing the judge.

    Thanks!

He ate it?!!?! In my opinion ‘we’ are not superior, aren’t we the ones that couldn’t survive a week in the wild!!??? He should go to jail for at least 10 years, and I’m also in favor of lifetime, but I know that is not going to happen.

A LIFE FOR A LIFE! KILL THIS MAN AND ALL OTHER ANIMAL KILLERS! A MURDER IS A MURDER, NO MATTER WHAT RACE-TO-RACE!

You people make me sick! Lifetime in jail for this?? Come on. Though his act was aggravated against his girlfriend and the cat was her property (for which there should be punishment) what the hell is wrong with humanely killing an animal and eating it? Regardless of whether it is a cat or a dog or a cow. Beleive me I’d rather be able to say I’ve never eaten cat but I’m pretty sure I have, that’s just the reality of living in another country! Here dogs are pets, go take a trip to Korea and tell me they are inhumane crminals when they offer you a bowl of dog soup!

To you who said: “Also I blame the US bible-bashing creationist “Humans are Superior” culture.” Guess what, WE ARE SUPERIOR! Doesn’t mean we have to torture animals mind you but WE NEED ANIMALS TO SURVIVE or just go eat some soy for you vegans freaks…
