Internet Cafés: Soooo 1999. Check Out a Cat Café Instead!
Karen Nichols

Forget Internet Cafés. The newest rage in Japan is the Cat Café. For just $10 an hour, you can drop by and hang out with a cat. The concept has proved to be very popular in urban areas. The regular customers are mainly 20- and 30-somethings who seek healing by cats, or who simply cannot afford to have pets full time. Some visiters come to the Cat Café three times a week. These photos are from the Nekorobi Cat Café in Tokyo:

Hi skeezy, That is a unique idea. Maybe we should open up one of those shops together. We’ll charge an even $20./ hour to make things interesting!! Your good friend Bosco.

Hey, Bosco, I had that same idea. I’m gonna open one up in my house. There are plenty of us to go around, and maybe I can earn some big bucks to buy cat stuff!

Good idea, wonder if this concept catches up in India, especially the urban cities like Mumbai which is akin to Tokyo in population density as well as “pet Maintenance cost factors”.
    Thanks catster.

Mom wants to put the kitties to work…we need some extra income and we could do it cheaper than 10 an hour. If people want the true pet owning experience without the longterm cost and commitment, they can also come feed us and scoop our boxes for an extra buck or two.

The place mommy shops at for us (Cat Connection, Dallas, Texas) has cats in residence. She often shops thare after work and when she’s had a bad day she spends a littel xtra time petting the kittties who live thare. It makes her calmer and we like sniffing her when she gits home.
