How Prevalent are FIV, FeLV and Heartworm in Your Area?
Karen Nichols

This week on Catster’s vet blog, Dr Barchus reported on a new website — kittytest.com — that provides data on the incidence of FIV, FeLV and heartworm by geographic area. It has a slick interface that allows you to mouse over your county and see a graph of the data. Check out Dr Barchas’ post to learn why this is important to you and your cat(s).

Wow! According to that, I am one of only 5 cats in Medina County (Ohio) to have FeLV.

Phew, not many with FeLV or FIV or feline heartworm here!

Kentucky seems to be in the low percentage, and it doesn’t show any in our area, which is almost hard to believe.
