my cat mythra keeps getting out of the house, and when he comes back he is all bruised and battered :(

  2. Henry posted a comment on July 20th, 2009 at 11:02 am

I’d ask WHY Henry always sits half inside and half outside the litter box when he does his buisness??!! I just don’t get it. I never get to see the show because I’m working and would LURV the DVD!!

We wish we understood why Gemini will not be friendly to new people in the house no matter how long they stay or how nice they are.

Don’t know that mine is behavioural… but I’ll post. I’m sensitive. VERY! Touch me anywhere past my collar and I’ll start growling and hissing. I’ve been with mama since I was about six months old and this didn’t start until I was several years old (I’m 8 now). Also, despite mama trying to socialize me, I freak when I hear a car door outside, much less someone actually coming in. I’m almost like an imaginary cat… mol!! Mama would like to know if there’s anything SHE can do to help either of these things.

Oh, and we don’t have satellite or cable or anything so we’d never even heard of this show. ^~~^

I would ask her how to get my brofur to stop POUNDING on me every time mom looks away. I am the only one he picks on (because I get scared when he looks at me, so he does it more, I growl, he gets closer, I hiss, then BAM!) and mom and I are both afraid he may really hurt me inadvertently. Separating us is not an option due to the layout of the house. He’s already on Prozac and wears a Feliway collar for this problem, with minimal success.

Short of mailing him to Timbuktu (an idea of which I am a strong proponent), we are out of ways to handle this.

    Love,
    Miou

Ok, this is kind of funny, but everytime I have a sneezing jag, my Midgey Girl comes up from behing my chair and smacks me, quite pissed off, on my arm! And if i keep sneezing, she keeps whacking me with her paw!! What’s up with that??

Gree and Boni Maroni don’t like each other. They both want to be with Mom in her office. That causes lots of growls and hisses and sometimes swats. And sometimes Mom gets bitten if she gets in the middle of a swat battle. I’d ask how to help them get along better.

My kitties are all really good. I believe its because they have kitty condos, high shelves just for them, lots of toys and boxes and bags, and they all pick their own areas to hang out in (I have 5). They also have an outdoor condo that they can go out in when I’m at home. And I make sure each one gets their own individual one on one time. Some are overly shy when someone comes around but I think that is their nature!

I thinks we is all purrfect, but Mommie says she wonders what is wrong with my brother Fasa sometimes. He tends to meow a lot, and it sounds almost like he is hurt or upset (but he acts normal) She wishes he woulds be quieter, especially in the middle of the night!

Housecat Housecall Rules! Colleen likes to try and open up cupboards. As a result I had to install child-proof locks on the kitchen cupboards. I would like to not have to have these.

I’m very scaredy of all my siblings, and spend most of my time underneath the dresser in the bedroom. This has gotten to the point where my parents have put separate food and water bowls under there for me, and carry me to the litter box twice a day.

I would ask how to retrain my Marley’s occasional aggressive behavior towards my aides (I have a physical disability and others visit several times a day to help me). We introduce them to him slowly and gently, but he still acts out in certain situations and refuses to be distracted or deterred, and I often must close him out of the room.

Meowmy would love to have this Dvd!!!
She thinks we all are pretty close to perfect, but she would probably want to know who leaves her stinky pressies under the computer table? and Why? and How to make it stop? Our main suspect is Toes but with eighteen of us you can’t be sure until someone gets caught red-pawed in the “act”. I know it’s not me :-)

Meowmy wants to ask about me tearing up paper. When I want something (attention, food) I will start tearing up paper, any paper I can get my paws on. How does she stop me from doing that?
We would love the DVD because we don’t have cable or satelite. If we don’t get it I might need to run away and look for a home with cable TV, MOL

Guess what? I go to the veterinary office where Dr. Karen Sueda works. Mommy was going to make an appointment for me with her and submit me to the show because we live in Los Angeles. She still might because I pull out all the fur on my arms and belly and don’t get along very well with my older brofur. For now I’m on Prozac so we’ll see how that goes but mommy is getting a submission video together for me!

*waves to all* Furr the wecord I doesn’t think I has a pwoblem so here is my mommy,
Lolly has this habit that is driving me nuts. If I am lying down & I have an exposed limb it needs to be petting him or he’ll continually hook it with his claw, This is ok in the winter but right now it is 80+ degrees at night; way too hot to sleep buried under blankets. If I shut him out of my room he tears up the carpet trying to dig his way in.

My cat tries to scratch the furniture although she is declawed. She does not do any damage, but is this a normal behavior for declawed cats?

  23. Skylar's Mom posted a comment on July 21st, 2009 at 2:56 pm

Skylar is a little fellow, only about 7 lbs, but he seems to have the ability to leap tall buildings in a single bound. Actually, he has the bad habit of leaping from the floor to your shoulder to perch there; usually when your back is turned and you least expect it. I’m worried that he will do this to an unsuspecting house guest. We try putting him firmly back down on the floor and telling him “no” and it works for a day or two and then he is back to his old tricks. Should we stock up on shoulder pads and bandages or can this problem be fixed?

I have a problem with one of my cats jumping on the counter and getting into food that is put there for dinner, when we I leave the kitchen he jumps up there and eats out of the pans and then throws some down on the floor for the other cats to enjoy as well. I have caught him on the stove and I’m afraid that he is going to get burned one of these days, and he has been in the trash as well. I just have no idea on how to break him of this bad habit that he has got. This has been going on for about a year now! How do I get him to stop jumping up on the stove and counter?

One of my cats eats my houseplants! I sprayed them with “Yuck!’ but that works for about a day. The plants are not poisonous, but I like my plants! What can I spray on them to make my cat stop eating them?

I love this show, it has so much helpful information. My question is:
We have 18 inside cats for the most part they all get along. We have one or two that don’t always use the litter boxes. We have several types. (2) litter robots, (1) extra extra large litter box, (2) extra large boxes, (1) large box and (1) downstairs. We use and have tried several different types of litter. Their litter boxes are cleaned twice a day and washed weekly. We do use an enzyme cleaner also. Can you help, so all our babies using the littler boxes all the time?

One of my cats is very sweet and affectionate but while sitting on your lap if you move or talk she hisses and swipes at you. Why???

  30. Linda K posted a comment on July 26th, 2009 at 12:26 pm

Okay, my problem is that I have too many cats and they get jealous of each other and will occasionally pee on my bed! UGH! I put waterproof pads on top of bed but sometimes for spite they just go underneath them.

  31. Morgan the Pirate Gato posted a comment on July 26th, 2009 at 4:46 pm

Can you come to CT for a week?

I need Morgan to not freak everytime someone comes here – he zooms under his couch.

I need to figure out who and why someone likes to pee on the dog beds – no medical reasons – no one has been caught?

Why does Lakoda INSIST on stealing the dog’s cookies and ignoring them when they growl?

My 3 year old indoor neutered male tabby runs over and tries repeatedly to grasp and mount our other neutered male cat whenever he (the 2nd cat) meows to be let out on the porch. Why would a fixed cat do this?

Eliot is a sweet boy for me and a select few, but it is very hard to get him socialized because of how poorly he reacts to strangers – he either hides or acts like he is protecting me. Any suggestions?

  35. NJKatwoman (Christy Kuppler) posted a comment on November 9th, 2009 at 4:42 pm

My behaviorial problem is with my 4 1/2 month old rescue, “Brutus”. He is still very hit or miss w/ the litter box. I still find puddles of pee, or poo in inappropriate places.
When he was still young, before he was weaned, he had peed into a large round ashtray that I had. I then filled it w/ litter, and allowed him to use it for a couple of days. I then took the ashtray and put it in a litter box, to help him make the “connection” and transistion. He no longer pee’s in the ashtray, instead sometimes using the littler box, and sometimes not. I have a younger rescue who took the the litter box the first time I showed it to him. Brutus is the only kitty that I have ever had this problem with, and I now have 4 grown kitties, and him, and tiny “Misu”. Could he have suffered oxygen deprivation? I found him attached to the placenta along w/ two litter mates…they were all tangled up in umbilical cords.
