Giveaway: Simon’s Cat – the Book!
Last week’s Monday Movie was the latest short featuring Simon’s Cat. This week, English animator Simon Tofield provided The Cat’s Meow with exclusive cartoons of Simon’s Cat with President Obama’s dog, Bo!
Of course, Simon’s Cat is a perennial favorite on The Cat’s Meow, and we can’t wait to read SIMON’S CAT, the new book about Simon’s cat’s adventures (and misadventures).
Based on Tofield’s animations that have taken YouTube by storm with over thirty million hits, SIMON’S CAT depicts and exaggerates the hilarious relationship between a man and his cat. The daily escapades of this adorable pet, who will do just about anything to be fed, and his exasperated but doting owner, come to life through beautiful black and white line drawings. With a huge fan following that is growing even larger by the day, SIMON’S CAT is set to become a major new comic sensation.
Simon Tofield is an award-winning illustrator, animator and director at Tandem Films in London.

“Cat Man Do” is my favorite video of Simon’s Cat. It’s right on the money with my Siamese, Apollo and I love the obvious plotting that Simon’s Cat obviously does to get his owner to wake up and feed him!
Kismet and I are especially big fans of “Cat Man Do.” Because we live it. Daily.
So far, the first was the best — it came out when our cats were kittens and one of them took it upon herself to use it as an instruction manual (substituting her little teeth for the bat for the coup de grace); she has supplanted the alarm clock! The fly does come close, though…
My favorite Simon’s Cat movie is “Let Me In”. We love watching that one as it is really great.
Oh My! so hard to pick a favorite. They are all spot on funny. I would say that the fly one is my fav because my kitties lose their minds too over any bug.
My favorite, after Cat Man Do, is TV Dinner. So very true to life! I also like Simon’s Sister’s Dog – good message there!
Bella is my very own “Can Man Do” she has the paw slaps and kneading down pat (no pun intended). I call it my own kitty 500 as she races around the bed, and leaps off and on me until I finally relent and get up. She trills a symphony when her dish is filled and wastes no time diving in.
“Cat Man Do” is the one that rings home for me! Some mornings I definitely wake up feeling like I’ve been pounded with a baseball bat – I never knew it was the cats!!

Today, my favorite is ‘Fly Guy.’ But I love all of them to bits, and live them most days too!
Oh it’s a toss-up between “Cat Man Do” & “TV Dinner”. Both are like any day at our house & she has the scars to prove it..MOL
My favorite is “TV Dinner”. It’s as if Simon peeked in our window at dinner time.
We love “Cat Man Do” since it happens every morning in our house. You never need an alarm clock.

We like Simon’s cat alot and think he is really funny. “Fly Guy” is quite fitting as a favorite for me, it’s what I do when ever I see a fly. Last night I was snoozin on Mum’s lap and I heard a cat meowing, I got up and looked around and it turned out that she was watching the “fly guy” episode and it was Simon’s Cat meowing and he was in the compyooter, not outside the window like I thought. hehe.

My favorite Simon’s Cat movie is Fly Guy. No matter how many times I watch it I crack up. It so reminds me of how my
kittys act if a fly gets into the house. Always a good source of entertainment!

We first saw Hot Spot via Cat;s Meow. We love them all but Hot Spot was our first Simon. Simon’s cat is so much like my little Mushyface, right down to the chirrup. Simon has captured the right cat-a-tude. Can’t wait to see the book. Thank you for showing us some of the better cat sites!!
MOL, we LOVE Simon’s Cat! My human loves all of them! One of her favorites is Fly Guy – it’s a great representation of how we kitties react to a fly, from the chattering, to the patting of the fly after it’s dead, to bringing our “prize” to our special human! We found it especially funny when Simon’s Cat put the fly in his human’s mouth. That gives me an idea for next time I catch a fly, hehe.

“TV Dinner” is my favorite because Simon=Flip.
All of the animations are hilarious, but “Cat Man Do” will always be the best – so true and accurate! It had me laughing for weeks.

Simon’s Cat movie with The Fly is my absolute favorite movie of all. I could watch it over and over, it reminds me of the BeaverCat chasing a fly. He will meow at it grab the blinds and knock things over until he thinks he’s won.
Fly Guy is my favorite. We were rolling on the floor meowing, it is so hilarious! He is so great at capturing cats behaviors and I would love to have this book

Like everyone else I have a hard time just picking one.
I suppose if I have to it would have to be the one about the fly. Right now I could use a good fly chase actually. Too bad it’s getting cold outside or the humans here would probably open a window and let a few in for me to chase. Bugs are awesome fun! I suppose since I can’t get a fly of my own I’ll just have to watch the Simon’s cat movie about the fly a few more times, maybe bat at the screen for good measure.
The first Simon’s Cat cartoon is still my most favourite. But in Fly Guy, Mr. Simon purrfectly captured the terribly frightening (for the prey) hunting chatter we cats do!
TV Dinner!!!
The “deja-vue” feeling is the strongest there
We love them all!!! But if we had to choose one to be our favorite, it would be “Let me in”! This is the one where the kitty is outside and wants to come in, then the guy comes and opens the door and … OMC!!! It is sooooooooo funny and true! MOL!!
My favorite Simon movie is “Cat Man Do”. It shows the human/cat relationship so well! hehehe

“Cat Wakes up Owner” is a typical sunday morning at our house.
While they were all great, the new video Fly Guy is so far my favorite. We laughed so hard when we watched it. It’s our River boy to the letter!

I love all the Simon’s Cat films! My current cat is indoor but the rest of my life is summed up by Let me In. My oldest cat would do hang-twenties on the front screen!
My favorite Simon’s Cat movie is “Cat Man Do” because that’s exactly how I feel every morning when I’m awakened by my 5 kitties.
I have to say that “Fly Guy” is probably my favorite. It looks just like what my Luna does when she sees an offender in the house. I can not tell you how many things she has destroyed in her attempts to catch a bug. Except that she always eats it herself, but brings me a little morsel of it as a present.
I really love Cat Man Do, my cat will do anything, I mean anything to wake us up for her food, she will suddenly find all her noisy toys and make use of them, or put her butt on our faces so we can smell her stinky behind (she does this when she just went for a no. 2…)…or go from the end of the bed and run in lighting speed on our bodies to the pillows repeatedly. She just can’t take, “I need to sleep” for an answer!
Love them all, but Fly Guy is my fav becasue of the perfectly captured ‘clicking’ that Simon’s cat does while chasing the fly…..I could watch it over and over and over….
