Followup on Dumping Miss Daisy Story
Last month we shared the story of Daisy, an indoor-only tabby who was picked up by Animal Control officers Aaron Jordan and John Marsh Jr. in Jersey City, and dumped in a local park rather than delivered to a shelter. Daisy survived a snowstorm and was eventually reunited with her owner, Morgan Metius.
Joe Frank, who supervises Jordan and Marsh, has looked in to the matter, but feels it was an isolated incident, as you can see in this video investigation by Fox 5’s Arnold Diaz:

Sounds like the fox is guarding the henhouse. Thus far, neither Jordan nor Marsh has been fired or charged with animal cruelty.
In the wake of the Daisy incident, Companion Animal Trust, a group of animal activists, caught 21 cats in Lincoln Park. Of those, 13 were spayed/neutered and returned to the park, and eight were put up for adoption at Liberty Humane Society in Jersey City, N.J.
If you’d like to ensure that this incident is properly investigated and Aaron Jordan and John Marsh Jr. are brought to justice, you can contact Mayor Jarramiah Healy and Councilman Steve Fulop:

I’d like to bite Aaron and John on the butt!
I think the guy in charge should be fired! They need someone to run the place the way it is supposed to be run. He certainly should not be conducting the investigation. If he’s allowed it for years he will sweep it all under the rug & the twenty some odd kitties those other folks rescued from the same park should show he is a liar & unfit for his job. Shame Shame Shame is right!
Those poor kitties out there in Lincoln Park looked so unhappy. How did Daisy get out of her house? And, why didn’t those dumb neighbors knock on a few doors to find out where Daisy belonged instead of immediately calling Animal Control? At least poor little Daisy’s owner was able to find out what had happened to her. And, What a great video of the guys dumping another cat. Yeah, right–it was an opossum–a black and white opossum! We’re so glad Daisy is home and that ultimately it was her and her dedicated “catmommy” and her boyfriend who alerted the good shelter folks about the problem of illegal dumping of cats–by the city! The head of Jersey City Animal Control and the other workers are probably in patronage jobs and will be hard to dislodge. (Hey! We know plenty about patronage jobs. We’re from Chicago.) New Jersey is also notoriously corrupt. Maybe those bums could all work on a pothole crew or a sitting-in-a-city-truck-all-day-and-sleeping. We got that here.
In my 40 years of living I have never, ever met ANYONE from New Jersey who had at least 3 operating brain cells. These morons only strengthen that fact. God bless you little one.
Is a shame to the people that supossly are there to help them.
That’s outrageous!!! And it makes mom hissing mad! Trust me, you don’t want to make mom mad!!!
Major PO’d, Mom’s from New Jersey. Mom worked as a vet tech. in a lot of clinics there. Their are idiots every where. Just because this story was found in N.J. doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen in your state or town,.
Do some thing about it! It takes more then a “God Bless You” to get things moving.
Bellz Mom
I’d like to bite Morgan’s butt!
I’ll bet there’s more here than meets the eye. The cat “never” goes out? Oh really? That can’t be true or it would not have been picked up. Those “cat” lovers who allow their bird killing machines to roam and crap all over their neighbor’s gardens and lawns can go straight to hell. Keep your damn stinkin cats indoors if you love them so much !
