What a cool prize – I could take my girls with me to meet their grandparents and be able to stay for a whole week. It’s not much fun visiting for almost 2 days and worrying the whole time about my babies.
I could go to Rome! I could go to Portulaca! I could go to the zoo and see my way-bigger-than-me cousins! I could go to visit the Grad School Girl in Kent, O HI O!
Hmmm! With all of that cool stuff, traveling would be a lot of fun! More fun than going to the v-e-t anyway!
Oh man do I have some cat traveling stories. Whenever I would go home for the summers or other breaks from college in Northern, WI, I would have to drive all the way to Eastern Tennessee and then on to Texas from there. Needless to say I have spent lots of time in the car with my pets, which includes cats. Probably my best (or worst, depending how you look at it) stories is when my cat Zane puked and pooped on me at the same time while I was driving. It was great…
That is really a greats prize package. Does I has to share it with my furblings?
i luf my iams
I LOVE TOYS! Everything in that picture is a TOY! (I travel too…with my toys of course)
Ooo what a cool contest. Pick me! Pick me! =^..^=
I don’t like road trips much, but I sure would love that plush cat bed!
OH my gosh, I’d love to win all this neat-o stuff. My cats are VERY experienced travelers.
We LOVE IAMs cat food. We eats the Sensitive Stomach and Naturals. Good Stuff!
catbyte6@yahoo.com
Oooooh, we all would LOVE this prize package!
Ooooooh what fun! We wantz to win! Lotz of laaav, Dibbles & Pippa
Oooh, my three kitties would love to score this haul!
Ooh some beautiful products there. But can folks from around the world enter or just ones in certain countries?
My purrballs and I have been inelligible from many a contest hosted on the web before because we are in Canada.
My two are Iams kitties, they would love it!
I moved to SC from East TN in 1977 with two cats, one dog, and houseplants that included a Very large Phylodendron all tucked into my 1964 Falcon Van. I had everyone’s favorite blanket tucked among the boxes and plants and everyone settled in. The trip was five hours long and no one complained. Everyone was peaceful because it must have felt like home!
Neato contest! I’d keep some items for my furballs and share the rest with both of our local animal shelters.
I LOVE to travel. Love it. The smaller the carrier the better and the longer the trip the better. As a younger cat we used to drive from MA to NJ at least once a month. I especially like the rumble of a diesel enginee. Only once in 4 years did I yak in the carrier and I neffur effur peed or pooed on the 4-6 hour drive.
We do a 4 hour drive to visit the grandparents in Dallas evrey two months and I cry and sleep the whole way. The funniest thing I did was try and jump out of my new carrier while my hoomin was at the whell. My lord the trees move fast in the car! I propmptly put myself back in my carrier and slept the rest of the way!
I traveled in an airplane. Twice! It was scairty.
I traveled in an airplane as a kitten to meet meowmy. Next stop will be moving, so this prize would come in great.
I love car rides. Even though I go without my sister because she gets car sick….

With all that stuff I might be willing to leave the house!
This looks like it will be a very interesting subject. I would love to travel with my pawrents as due to my daily healthcare regime, I can’t be boarded or left with a petsitter.
I only adopted Thessaly three weeks ago, so we haven’t had a chance to travel together yet, unless you count our first subway ride together from the rescue shelter back to my apartment. My two roommates and I have two other rescued kitties, and we would love to have a house-wide staycation together!
Hummm!! We would like to go on a road trip!! It would be our first ever!!
Your FL furiends,
Oh boy, I hope I win! Mom’s going on a trip and I want to go! I like to drive but if we can fly Wilson J Scooter lets me use his plane, too! Sid & Sarah would rather stay home, but Angel Bear flies along to protect us all!
Oh boysie, cool prizes! When we were 12 weeks old we flew from Sunny Callifornia to New Joisey via continental to meet our need mommie to bought us!
Now we travel by car to different shows around the metropolian area, mommie got us a TUTTO pet carrier – if you interested in what it is its a PET carrier on wheels
go to Tutto.com its a luggage place and they have all cool stuff, by the way.. we need stuff to keep us busy on our road trips cause mommie gets annoyed when she hears “meow meow meow for about an hour on end.. shes said.. OH my would you please shut your little kitty mouth now? How dare her! Finally we settle down and then shes happy (until the ride home and it starts all over) Meow Meow Meow.
I have made many road trips from San Francisco to South Lake Tahoe. Once I got used to it, I was a great traveler. I would fall in asleep in my carrier as soon as we hit the road and snooze the whole way.
This prize pack looks great! I hope I win!
My furravorite time was when I furst came home. There I was in Weiser. Just walking with my twin and being a bad boy just like him. Then the think that we can’t keep two cats! It was either me or my twin. Nicole was there to listen before she went back to Boise. She thought we are sweet cats and couldn’t go anywhere where she isn’t.She said I will take one. Virgina said that she was Kepping my twin, Kaden.Nicole begged her mom fur me to go home with her. Her mom said hmm. She said please. Her mom said I guess. I was very happy, untill I got put into the cage. It’s better than a box though.Nico,Kyle,Terence, and Nicole were sharing me. Nicole made sure I didn’t get hurt.Nicohlas and Terence weren’t fighting. That was surprising. I sometimes kept falling to the back whe I was on Nico’s lap but I got back up again.I think Nicole was the one really caring fur me.That’s why I love her now.The stopped at a cuople stores and Eddie really has to stop smoking but he can’t help it.When I arrived at home I was sniffing around. I met a bigger orange and white cat.His name was Winston. I met Mary to. Kyle was there but he didn’t do much.I love Winston.
By the way. Awesome prizes!
Thanks Karen, for the awesome interview and tips for traveling with cat babies.
And thank you Iam’s for the great prize! … there are oodles and oodles of kitties in this house so that sure would be nice to win …
We actually just got back from a road trip, his first. It was great and tiring at the same time. Mo was mewing for the first 3 hours of the trip and slept for the rest, except for when he hit the automatic window button. He freaked out and bolted to the back of the van. It was great!
A few weeks before finding EA in a Walmart parkinglot, we moved from West Texas to Georgia with two rabbits, a pair of parakeets, and a dog crammed in a mini-van. Since then we have gone on numerous visits to Ohio, a ten-hour drive from Atlanta, with EA in the backseat. Talk about hectic.
I LOVE being in the car but not in my box. That is a nice package.

As I’m the only one with video proof, I’ll post comments for entering the contest. It’s in my video book titled V*E*T Visit.
I hate to travel!! I especially hate the confinement… from the day mama got bloodied bringing me home in a box she’s known I do NOT like being in something so small. I cry just a little less when let loose in the car, but it makes mama nervous because she worries something might happen to me.
I’m a very reserved feline normally, but when I have to travel, I become super affectionate! I rub and purr and love on mama like crazy!!! But she knows it’s just because I want to go home!!
I hope it’s ok for me to just put this same post as the comment on each of the Cat’s Meow posts that are eligible for entry. ^~~^
Grumbly purrs,
Zilla
My Melissa is gone now, but boy did she love car rides! She must have been a dog in a former life….
Wow! What an interesting road trip Murray had! The only place I go is to the vet…NOT!…Mommy tried to put me in that carrier thing a couple of weeks ago, and I hid under the bed. I heard Mommy calling Dr. Mark and cancelling my appointment. A few days ago she thought she had outsmarted me by closing the bedroom door. NOT! I saw that carrier again coming toward me. I immediately went into my escape mode, and hid under the kitchen table, then behind the recliner, behind the bathroom door, in the playstation; well, you get the picture. No vet trip for me! My Dachshund brother Benny, thinking he was going for a walk, eagerly let Mommy put on his leash. She led him to the car and off to the vet! I must have a long talk with that brother of mine on escape techniques!

Be careful with Continental. Not all destinations/flights allow pets at all. Check first.
Great info on flying with our babies. Thank you so much for all the details. Just wish the airlines would let a big woof woof in the cabin with the kitties (but only a good one like my Shadie Kaye. She thinks all baby kitties are her personal responsibility)
We’re not into air travel, but we do travel in an RV – we could use some of this kitty loot, especially another scratching post!
I’ve traveled with my two feline roommates across the country, and have lived to tell! JJ wasn’t too happy with being in the car, but Jack was totally cool. And do we have some adventures! I’d love an RV I can totally ‘cat out’ for traveling, but that’ll happen someday. Awesome info on travel tips…
I think Daisy would rather stay home, but who knows, with some goodies she might change her mind!
This is a great giveaway! Nora wants to win it!
What a nice prize package! I’d love to win it!
My Jack loves his IAMs.Especially the dry cat food, chicken flavor. What a great treat it would be for him to win!
That bed is just his size.
Meows would be furry happy to tell you about my trip from San Juan to NYC on American Airlines. MOL!!!!!!
This is a FURRY COOL contest!
I’m leaving next week, moving back to FL from upstate NY with five kids and five cats! I think we’ve been making more preparation for the cats than the kids – they’ve all got their own carriers, travel bowls, new tags, collars, and leashes just for the trip. Oh, and we can’t forget the disposable litter pans, love those! We’ll write later and let everyone know how it goes.
Someone needs to design a better cat carrier…my cat literally cries herself to sleep in hers. But then she arrives, having missed most of the car trip, having had lovely dreams, I hope, about not being in a cat carrier.
I have a funny Cat Travel story.. I took my cat on her first plane ride last X-mas. Well I get to the Airport and go to the Screening area. Well there are no signs anywhere about how to check your cat through security so I put her on the X-Ray belt.. She goes through and they get all in a tussle saying I wasn’t suppose to do that and almost tried to arrest me or something. I didnt know.. They then mentioned that you have to take the cat out of the travel bag and carry her though the metal detector.. Yeah take a cat out of a bag in a area full of people.. Well I get on my way home and that time I take her out and she actually just clung to me and didn’t try to escape.. Now I know how to travel with a cat on a plane…lol
This is a cool travel set, and I could Soooo use it for the new kitten we will be bringing home at the end of June, from LA to SF. This would be fab!
purrrrrrrrppurrrrrrrr….this will make my travels in the car puuuuuuuurfect……I hope mommy wins for me!!!!
Your timeing for this series is perfect! I’ll be embarking on a road trip with my three elderly cats the end of this month and I’m sure I’ll find good tips and tricks here to make thier trip easier.
I was brought up on Iams!!! Love the stuff…and toys too of course!! Meow!!!
My 5 cats would love a road trip. Maybe to the backyard, maybe to a pet toy store. who knows, you’d have to ask them where they’d want to go.
I asked Mom ’bout “Take Your Cat(s) To Work” week an’ she said that as of this Friday (6/12), she’s on vacation, so there’s no “work” to go to … Sigh.
Mom’s taken some of us to PetSmart … That was kinda fun ’til the rectal thermometer an’ the surprise v-e-t. OH, an’ we got to stay in a motel once for a couple of days … We frightened the housekeeping staff by yowlin’ …
We’d love to win this contest!
DMM
Awesome stuff! Now I just need a kitteh who likes to travel.
We love traveling with our mom. She takes us everywhere. Sometimes we ride in the car and sometimes we even get to fly on an airplane. When mom was working out of town she always took us with her and we got to stay in the nicest hotels where the housekeeping staff used to bring us lots of toys and treats and play with us while mom was at work. We would love to win that super duper IAMS prize package because we love our IAMS food and treats and eat them everyday. Thanks IAMS.
I have a new kitty. She needs toys! She loves toys!
WOW! Great Prizes! Ozzie says “No need to go to the spa-If Mom wins these prizes, I can just laze around here at home (as usual!) and let her pamper me. Can’t wait to use some of the tips that we’ll read from future articles!
Sweet! This would make traveling to my grandpawrents house a lot more fun! Plus, it would make the big move more exciting!
Ok, I’ve got a confession to make. We were all in the back seat… four carriers neatly, safely arranged… traveling three long, awful hours to Grandma’s house. And yes, I was the only one who cried. Yes me, the big tough boycat — not the girls, not my brother Rocky, just me. Mom kept telling me it was okay, that we were safe, that we’d be there soon, but I couldn’t seem to stop wailing. If I won the nifty travel prize it would be such a nice way to say I’m sorry for making everybody’s trip unpleasant.
I’d like that little bed, looks so cozy! But I bet the boys wouldn’t let me sleep, drive me crazy playing in that crackly fun tunnel. And we’d get some oh-so-nice brushings, yes, yes! Give the scoop to Mom. Ummmm, what is that snippy thing for ?– uh oh!
My humom is typing this because I’m not very good at it, yet.
This looks like a pretty neat prize. Lot’s of indoor fun stuff.
My humom is getting me used to the outdoors and her car. She won’t let me go outside by myself because she says it’s way too dangerous to be alone, so I have to wear a harness and be on a leash. I kinda like that. I’m pretty nervous in the car, though. I like to look out the window. I get to sit in my doggy sister’s seat, so I can see the world go by. Mom says that maybe I’ll get to go on a trip with them later this summer, if I can learn to like the car.
If not, I’ll have to stay home. Sure would be nice to have that prize to keep me occupied.
The best part of traveling with my brother Ernie is staying at great hotels that welcome pets with open arms.
Eliot doesn’t like the car much, but loves exploring new rooms!

I enjoyed this article, because I am planning on a move soon and want to take my cat with me. This answered all my questions and then some. Thank you.
wow its purrrr- fect for me and by big brother, we are surely going to love it!!!! can’t wait to see if we win… can’t wait to try these toys out and not to mention the really comfy bed

good luck to all of my neighbours out there
rosie&Roo…..Meow
My kitties, Bishop and Indy, would love all these cool prizes!
i have cats in my life since i was 5. i am 49 now. most of my cats i have found and saved from the outside elements or a friend has found them. only one time i got a cat from a store because the kitten reminded me of my cat that just died and i bought the kitten for my parents for their anniversary.
My 4 girls would have a blast with these prizes!!!!
Madison would love all of that especially a new bed.
I have 5 cats and will be moving to another state with them. I can sure use these items.
I think donating a cat bed to a shelter for a kitty is a great idea.Especially in my name.
It does take extra effort to travel with kitties. We traveled across the country with 2 cats and 2 dogs, and it was a lot easier then when we still had our travel trailer.
I drove from Savannah, Ga to Austin, Texas with my 3 cats, in 2004, and got the UHaul truck stuck in a ditch – there is more to this story, and that was just part of it.
My Izzie ran out of the motel room in Mississippi, and while getting her out of under a car, she bit me 3 times, and my finger is still crooked from the infection. There was no way I was going to leave her there. That’s how much I love my critters.
Petu & I are hoping to go camping this summer! This would come in handy!
I don’t like riding in the car much, but when my mom and dad take me to the camper, I have so much fun, that the ride is worth it!
Great prize, love the scoop and my sisters and I could use all the items so we can share.
My previous cat, Alley, hated to drive in the car. She mrowed the whole time in her travel cage. I found out though, that if she was out of the cage, sitting on my lap, and with her paws on the wheel, she was super calm and seemed to enjoy the trip!! Guess she just wanted to drive
What a great idea for a series of articles!
Such a cool prize pack! I need everything I can get for travelling with my two – they definitely do *not* like the car; I can’t imagine what getting them on a plane is going to be like…
I’ve traveld quite a bit, mostly on the train or by car. My Mette always brings me when she’s going to her parents. You meet so many interesting people when you go on the train, my Mette says it only happens when I’m going with her. I don’t like talking when there’s lots of strange people around me so I don’t say anything on the train (I’ve done it once when it took a lot longer than usual), but in the car I love to join in on conversations…
This wonderful and perfect timing for the summer when most people do travel. Plus the prize pack is a great way to get people to read the much needed article’s.
Wow! What a prize! We wants it!
Patches and Miss Glory
Hello everyone,my old bubby jasper would love this especially the food.
my cats insisted I enter.
Great Prizes! My catZ don’t mind car rides too much, but with these goodies it would be even easier!
Pick Me! Pick US!
Please pick me!!!!!!
Happy Happy Joy Joy
Now Luna and momma can visit grandma in Texas!!
Yay! And we’re going on a roadtrip this summer too! Fun times!
What a wonderful gift set! Quite helpful for the kitty on the go! The trick is to start small – drive your kitty around the block, etc… then work up to longer trips. My kitty just made a round trip to/from Denver and went on a plane! He was purrfect – no meows, no clawing, just sleeping and purring. He is the purrfect traveler. When we drive to the vet, he knows how to brace himself in his carrier so he will not fall down when we go around the corners! I taught him this by placing my hand in the carrier and supporting him, then saying “here we go!” and bracing his body for him. Now, whenever I say “here we go!” when we are driving, he braces himself against the carrier! No kidding! He’s smart.
That sounds like an awesome contest! I just brought home my kitten this past Friday. She is so full of energy! I don’t know where she gets it all from. She’s only just over 8 weeks old. <3
Fun stuff. I don’t know how mine would be on long term trips, but he certainly loves going for a ride on occasion. He’s a pretty good traveler for the quick runs to the bank, to the vet, or around the block for the days he’s driving me nuts.
He has the whole, “We’re turning!” concept down pat. And, he knows when he’s almost home and will run from the car to the front door to be let back in his house! (Well, as much as his little cat harness will let him run with me!)
My Shaded Cameo Persian cat Snowball hates to travel in the car in his kennel. He loves to travel in the car if I hold him on my lap and pat him the whole trip. I guess he just wants to drive or spend more time with his Mommy! He is very mellow when I stop and hold him in my arms and show him the sites.
Duffy is the greatest. He loves to play, sleep and eat. He would love this package on the go or at home. What wonderful gifts for the perfect cat.
What an amazing prize – my cats would LOVE this!
I would looove to win this! Mama is verrry slowly working on helping me learn to travel with her. It makes me nervous sometimes, but she is taking it at my pace, and she pawsitively purrs about all the wonderful advice she has seen on Catster. Thank you Catster, for posting this series. Thank you, Iams, for providing a wonderful prize package for some lucky kitty!
The kitties would love everything in prize pack!
I have yet to do any traveling, but would love to try it out if I win!

Wow!!! Seems like i am not the only one who was forced to ride somewhere!!!
Mom and Dad regularly took us to visit gramma and grandpa for holidays when we lived in Florida. Some trips were longer then others – the drive from Orlandoto Naples was pretty good. But Miami to Naples always seemed worse. I would NOT be quiet!
Then, they took us to Wisconsin all the way from Miami! Me and Sparky and mom and dad in a U’Haul truck! I have to say it wasn’t too bad… until we stopped in a little town in Illinois and mom rescued a stray kitty in the parking lot of the hotel!!! Oh yeah, great idea mom!! Thankfully we were only about 4 hours from gramma and grampa’s at that time. It WAS an interesting trip!
I came to my parents because of my zest of the outdoors. I was left in a box with my brothers and sisters and decided staying put was not for me. I jumped out and ran to a door step that felt like home. My Mom found me crying from the fear of never being found. She took me in her arms and hasn’t let go since.
Since then I have loved going for car rides, going to the park, and staying in nice hotels. I just love exploring new places. Due to all the exciting things I love to do it has made me have an sensitive stomach. The only food that I can handle is Iams Digestive Care. It has made me feel so much better. I have been eating it for about a year now and am happy and back to my exploring ways. Thanks Iams. Please consider me so I can give back to my parents whom I love so much. Purr
I would love this, been eating Iams since I’ve been eating which is iver one year. Meow
