Cat Makes News When Trapped in News Truck’s Sat Dish
Karen Nichols

The cat is trapped in a tight space atop a WCBS TV truck.

While on its way to a press conference in Long Island, a WCBS-TV news truck found dozens of drivers on the Northern State Parkway honking their horns and waving. A motorist finally called to reporter Jennifer Logan that a cat was stuck in the satellite dish assembly on the roof.

Nassau County police officers freed the cat by dismantling a panel of the dish. The cat immediately fled (which really bothers me, since s/he was probably miles from home at that point.)

Hello Skeezix, We hope that the cat makes it home safely. Perhaps the owner has seen a photo of their cat on the news and retrieved it.

It was incredibly irresponsible of the officer who removed the cat to not keep the cat safe once removing it from the dish, and call animal control in order to try to reunite the cat with its family. Nassau County policy DID NOT do their job in regards to this poor cat.

So stupid – now that cat isn’t anywhere close to his home! I hope his family saw him on TV and can find him. I think we could write a book on stupid people!

Awwww…I hope that kitty makes it home. I wonder if he got all bitey and that’s why the cop didn’t hold on tight enough to get him into a PTU…

Take a look at the cat — he’s well fed and well groomed — NOT a stray. I’m very upset by this.

i’m going to consol myself with the fact that cats have an incredible sense of direction and he was fortunate enough to see where he was and where he’d been.

Guido I agree with you mate. Look how the polic officer is holding him by the neck which is a no no unless your a kitten mother. Hope he get back to family.

This is not right. It seems like the only reason they “rescued” him was because he was causing a disturbance and/or affecting transmission.

They didn’t care about that poor kitty.
