Cat Bong Guy Gets Slap-on-the-Wrist Sentence
Acea Schomaker (left), of Lincoln, Nebraska, the doper who stuffed his kitten, Shadow (below), in a bong to calm her down, has been sentenced to a 90-day jail term and $1,171.30 in restitution to go to the Capital Humane Society for its care of Shadow, who has since been adopted.
The judge, Gale Pokorny, asked Schomaker if he had anything to say. Shomaker said, “I screwed up big time, and there’s nothing I can do to take it back.”
In a meeting with a probation officer, Schomaker said he got the idea marijuana smoke would calm the cat, which nipped and scratched him. The day he was arrested, he told deputies he was trying to figure out a way to control the cat without hitting her, as her former owner had.
He said he grabbed Shadow by the scruff of the neck and put her in the box, quickly closing the lid.
“It’s so ridiculous they’re calling me an animal abuser,” he told the probation officer. “I would not be wasting pot on it.”
Schomaker admitted he had been disciplining the cat by putting it in the bong for about three weeks, maybe a couple of times a week.
Shomaker’s fiance, Marissa Vieux, was sentenced to 15 days in jail and $450 restitution for her role in the abuse.

I can’t even mention what I would like to do to this guy if I could get my hands on him… He looks like a real “bright one”. People like him shouldn’t be allowed to procreate!!
You shouldn’t force that on an animal, if you want to make the decision to smoke that’s fine, do whatever you want, it’s your choice, getting your cat baked isn’t a consensual thing. That’s awful. However, in this article when it said “bong” i was picturing like a glass bong, not a box, not that it changes anything, but I was picturing this kitten shoved into a glass vase. Glad to see it at least wasn’t that extreme.
May I please stuff this butthead into a bong for a while please?????
It’s a shame that harsher penalties aren’t being give to these abusers. Apparently our justice system does not realize just how nasty this stuff is and how much nasiter these people can get.
You think 90 days in jail for upsetting a cat is a light sentence? Have any of you ever spent time in jail? If this is a first offense for this guy, this seems like a fairly appropriate sentence. What he did sucks but on the scale of nasty things people do, its pretty low.
His face says it all. It has DUMBASS written all over it. Lock this idiot up, along with all idiots and throw away the key. “People” like this have NO place in society.
That poor little kitty. I hope to God she wasn’t hurt. And I hope to God that she never encounter this vile individual again and lives out her life in peace and happiness, a life of love that all animals deserve. Humans and their idiot bahavior make me absolutely sick. No wonder I prefer the company of my cats to humans.

People who feel the need to “discipline” animals and children for just doing what comes naturally shouldn’t be allowed pets and children. Kittens scratch – it is not deliberate or malicious, it is just the way they play. If someone does not have the emotional maturity to cope with young ones they should not be around them. They are living creatures, not toys or possessions.
Yeah just wait — we’ll be stuck with the bill to support his lame ass and his girl friend when they hold up a store for beer money — If we looked up the word LOSER in the dictionary we would find a picture of him and i will not even go into where we might lookup and find a picture of his girlfriend. I say if he likes to play with cats so much drop his lame ass in a lion cage and watch him stuff that kitty down a pipe.
