Are the New York Mets Cat Magnets?

The New York Mets are no strangers to stray cats strutting on their fields. In their inaugural game at Citi Field, a big orange tabby found its way onto the warning track, suggesting the promise of future cat sightings this season.

Hi Skeezy, We see that a lot of cats have fans! Hope you and family had a nice holiday. Bosco.
Do you have a follow up on what has happened to this cat after it was captured? The poor thing looked so scared!
That looked like me in my younger days! I hope somebody got the kitty and found out who he belonged to, or gave him a home!
You know if it were the Yankees, I’d have to wonder if they were friends of Jeter just checking out the game…
MOL!!!!!!! I told Quinn he shouldn’t go to the game alone!
I called the Queens, N.Y. ASPCA and asked about the cat. The guy said he thought it had maybe been picked up by Animal Control. I called the Queens Animal Control and the guy on the phone didn’t know anything about it. Does anyone know if this cat was rescued? it looked absolutely terrified just trying to find somewhere to hide with all those people yelling. I felt very sorry for it. I wonder if it was a stray or a feral or someone’s pet that somehow got dumped there?
My human and I are big Mets fans and wanted to let all of you know that there is a long history of Mets cats. Many ferals lived at Shea Stadium before it was torn down, and apparently many of them have made the move to Citi Field. In fact, I heard that a player from an opposing team adopted a kitten from the old stadium and called him Shea!
I meant to mention, too — I want the Mets to rename the stadium… Kitty Field!!!
