Thought I needed to keep the decks clear in case a job turned up. But a year later, nothing. I volunteered with the understanding that I may have to quit abruptly, and they're fine with that. (It's not always feasible for programs that require extensive training.) It gets me out of the house and interacting with animal lovers and pets, which helps my mental attitude a LOT.
