An idea for non-US residents: Can one of your pet’s US friends send you some? I wouldn’t mind sending some.

Another disappointed Aussie … I also would like stickers but we obviously can’t buy US stamps here. It hardly seems fair that most of the offers exclude the international members. We are a world-wide community when it is all said and done.

  9. Charmaine posted a comment on March 31st, 2008 at 2:39 am

My word people, they are just stickers, don’t get so upset. I live in South Africa so I can’t get them either but, hey, you win some, you lose some.

Keep up the good work, Catster.

I work at a vet clinic in Australia and t would have been nice to advertise catster in our front window. :(

  11. Mitey posted a comment on March 31st, 2008 at 3:14 am

this offer does not say that you have to live in the US to get these stickers. anybody can get these stickers. it says to include a self addressed stamped envelope. for heavens sake, you could include a fedex envelope.

it upsets me to see ya’ll doggin’ catster about something that is not true. you are not being fair.

  12. Cindy posted a comment on March 31st, 2008 at 3:30 am

Yes you can buy stamps online at usps.com.

I live in Australia too - you can get an international reply coupon at Australia Post which can be exchanged by the addressee (Catster) for a stamp for air mail postage for a small letter to anywhere in the world. It costs around $2.80 AUD (taken from the AP booklet). As for a FedEx envelope or buying USPS how would anyone out of the States even know about this seeing these are American companies and hardly known outside of there? Not sure we could use these anyway.

  15. Jen posted a comment on March 31st, 2008 at 4:48 am

Catster, why not have a something we can all download, we can then print off with whatever paper we want, however many times we want and stick them wherever we want?

For all international Catster members - go to USPS.COM to order US stamps. You can even calculate how much in stamps you will need for the envelope. Currently a regular-sized envelope costs 90c US to ship most places internationally.

  20. Marly posted a comment on March 31st, 2008 at 6:05 am

For international peeps, you can easily just get it postmarked at your post office! That’s what I used to do when I lived outside the country. (That’s also what the leasing office I used to work at did for international tenants so they could send their lease back, postage free.)

Just bring your envelope up to the counter and specifically ask for an airmail postmark, etc and viola!

  21. catnip824 posted a comment on March 31st, 2008 at 6:11 am

Hey, international folks, yes, go to USPS.com (United States Postal Service) to order what you need!

  22. Dragon620026 posted a comment on March 31st, 2008 at 6:21 am

I agree. Even though I live in the US I think it would be a much better idea if you could order them online. People save money, paper, and time. Not to mention that it would be available to anybody. Please consider an online ordering system.

Interesting that most of the posts dogging Catster were all made within minutes of each other…I think I smell a spammer in our midst.

As many have already pointed out, simply go to usps.com or your local postal service, there is always a way to get things done.

  24. Hunter posted a comment on March 31st, 2008 at 8:20 am

You only need to provide a self addressed stamped envelope. Nowhere does it say that it needs to be US stamps. Go to your local post office and have them determine how much postage you’d need for your return envelope. Geez people, this isn’t rocket science!

No, you cannot put your own country’s stamps on a self-addressed stamped envelope (to the people claiming you can or asking if you can). Last time I checked, when you want to mail something here in the United States, it takes *American* stamps.

  30. Spud posted a comment on March 31st, 2008 at 10:20 am

Just send us a self-addressed, stamped envelope and indicate which stickers you’d like and how many.

Example: 1 Catster sticker, 1 Dogster sticker, 1 Catster Local sticker

Send your self-addressed, stamped envelope to: Catster Stickers, 555 De Haro Street, Suite 350, San Francisco, CA 94107

If you go to usps.com and put in the origination address as catster’s and your own address as the destination you should be able to print the postage and tape it to the self addressed envelope.

We can buy U.S. stamps in Canada, so can we order some stickers? How much are they in US funds? With the Canadian dollar almost at par with the US dollar, it shouldn’t be a problem. Please advise. Meow from Canada.

ask about International Reply Coupons? If you put one or two of those in your envelope and ask them nicely, I’ll bet they’ll send you your stickers.

  47. adam stevens posted a comment on April 1st, 2008 at 6:11 am

just put some american dollars in the self addressed envelope and they’ll do it. American dollars are almost worthless these days, so you can pick them up for next to nothing :-)

  48. minnaloushe posted a comment on April 1st, 2008 at 6:37 am

I don’t understand - how would your someone in your countries send any mail to the US, then?? Obviously, you can get US postage - you just go to your local post office, and have them figure out what you need to mail an envelope to the US, and also what needs to be on your reply envelope…

I’m sure as long as your postage is correct from your post office, catster will send your stickers…

  49. adam stevens posted a comment on April 1st, 2008 at 6:45 am

Typically you can only buy postage stamps for the country you purchase them in. ie, if you were in iran you could buy iranian stamps to post to the usa. Maybe someone can post a link to buying american postage online , however that works - I imagine you print it? On another note , my cat , i thought she’d run away returned home 2 days ago and gave birth - is there anyone on the south coast of england who can help me for a few weeks with mum+5, im moving house this week, it’s a mess.

Holy crap everyone!! They are just stickers!! My Dad just died in 3 months of melanoma cancer, his legs went numb from a tumor, he never walked again, or went to the bathroom on his own again, massive pills, experimental meds and chemo that basically killed him faster….and you are freaking out about stickers!! What an easy life you must have…..It SAID send a self addressed stamped envelope…so don’t take it as an affront to the rest of the world cause you can’t figure it out!

  51. Sandy posted a comment on April 1st, 2008 at 8:39 am

I can’t believe a few of these comments! Who cares if someone lives in the UK or Australia? We are all dog and cat lovers and we all love Catster. And if everyone would read all the comments you will find you can get the stickers as easily as those in the US. The comment about UK or Aussies starting their own Catster is ridiculous to say the least. I welcome all my other country friends and love having my cats having friends in other countries and me too! There is too much anger and hatred in this world all ready, please don’t bring it into Catster and Dogster. It is the neatest thing that ever happened to animal lovers! And I have an adopted daughter in Australia because of our cat’s friendship with each other. Love each other, please don’t bicker over stickers!!!

  52. Smokey's Mom posted a comment on April 1st, 2008 at 11:19 am

Hey, it’s not Catster’s fault that the U.S. Postal Service has their own rules and regulations that are governed by our U.S. government. Just as you all have your own government rules and regulations. So..chill out! ok?

  53. Smokey's Mom posted a comment on April 1st, 2008 at 11:31 am

Hey Daner! It doesn’t have to be a spammer to cause such an uproar. All it takes is one person to complain and the whole lot with similar circumstances “chime: right in! Spamming has nothing to do with this, I’m sure…

Hey, I just got back from a trip and was talking with a cashier about Catster. I had some stickers I received when I bought my T Shirt and gave her one and she thought it was great!! I would like to something like business cards to pass out with catster and dogster info on them that I can just hand out to people. Just a thought.

Hey all! I am glad to hear that there are so many with me on the outside the US issue… but thanks to all the US people who (a) offered to send some to us Europeans and Canadians, (b) the tip about the USPS.com website and (c) the Catster staff that replied to me via email. You are a fantastic bunch.

As for Daner´s comment “smelling a spammer in our midst”, think about this: we all got the email with the sticker offer at the same time (obviously us Europeans a few hours before the US people), went straight to the website here and found out “oh, it´s not for us, boohoo”. So then I made the first comment, and other Europeans saw it and commented too. That would explain it! :D

  59. Amanda posted a comment on April 5th, 2008 at 5:59 pm

I do not see where it says US citizens only… just send them an envelope with one already stamped in return… address it to yourself, use the appropriate amount of stamps and send it away. usps.com is the address…. just be sure to use a money conversion tool. :)

  60. kaya skye's mom posted a comment on April 13th, 2008 at 11:03 am

perhaps catster should consider reposting this offer with the various ‘workarounds’ included? along with an assurance that no, nobody is attempting to exclude kitties outside of the u.s.-it just so happens that catster headquarters is IN the u.s., so the postage on the SASE needs to be u.s. postage. there is no evil intent here, just a fact of geography. i’m fairly sure that if i were to send a SASE to my friends in Britain, Nigeria or Iran that the postage on them would have to be British, Nigerian, or Iranian-or it simply wouldn’t work! and i would NOT consider that a sign that the country or my friends considered me second-rate. just the way it works, folks…now, since they are my friends i generally just include a money order for postage or they comp me and i comp them if they need something from here…but this is different.
so, if catster would please address the international raised hackles by reposting? tell our overseas friends that you love kitties all over the world, and if they want their stickers there are a few easy ways to get them! (usps.com, talk to your local post office about marking or metering, fedex, get a u.s. kitty to give you a helping paw…) these folks are obviously hurt-and feelings don’t have to be logical-and are commenting before they read the comments that give the solutions.

If I knew how much it cost to send the stickers to you all,I would buy books of USA postage stamps & you all could send your self addressed envelopes to me for the stickers & I would do the postage both ways.To Catster, then back to you,but the last time I sent a letter to UK it was pretty expensive & that was 4 yrs ago.
Postage here is almost 50 cents a letter now inside the USA.
Oh I wish I could help!

Where does it say US only? I agree that some are making to big of deal. Bigger things to worry about as Jules attested too. And if Catster/Dogster was so US friendly you wouldn’t be able to post here anyway. I love Catster and that it supports animals and animal lovers, and lets you do a lot of stuff for free.
