Our July 4th Special Rosette is now available! And it’s super cool.

Just in time for the most patriotic month of them all, Plus members will be able to give out a waving flag Rosette to all their bestest four-legged companions.

Not a Dogster or Catster Plus member yet? Well, now’s the time to get in on all the flag waving fun! We bet you couldn’t count on all four paws the number of pups and kitties that would love to find one of these on their pet pages!

We’re chasing our tails happy! Dogster and Catster were just awarded the CNET “Webware 100″ Award in the Community Category. And we owe it all to you!

The award recognizes the best Web 2.0 sites, services, and applications that are leading the next wave of innovation. Webware.com editors received and reviewed thousands of entries. Finalists were selected and featured in an online voting poll, where users voted and ultimately selected the winners.

When we found out that we were finalists, we reached out to out community to go to the Webware 100 site and vote!

And like always, you didn’t let us down!

Now the whole world will know that we have the greatest community ever! But, then again, with a community built around dog and kitty love and made up of people like you, we kinda already knew that.

Today we formally launched the brand new Catster Adoption Center as part of our great new relationship with 9Lives Cat Food. We hope you’ll love them and we hope you’ll let us know how we can make them better.

We completely upgraded and rewrote our adoption functionality. The big roll-out started on Catster today. We’ve joined forces with 9Lives to see that 1,000,000 cats are adopted by the end of 2008 and we’re committing our all to make it happen.

You can now see all types of relevant information like:

We’re still working on some last touches that will be available soon

• An easy tool to transfer a pet profile page from current guardian to new guardian

Here’s a fun one! We partnered with Astrology.com to get you your pet’s daily horoscope.

Get yours by simply editing their pet profile and selecting their Sun Sign (to their right of their birth date fields)

Immediately you’ll see their Sun Sign image on their profile page, and you can click it to read their daily horoscope. It’s as easy as that!
