Via ‘My Account’ you can now modify how you want to receive friend requests. Instead of accepting invites from all members as it is set now, you can choose to only accept invites from friends that know your email, or to stop accepting invites altogether. If you haven’t guessed already our goal is to make this site perfect for everyone. Thanks for letting us know how it’s working for you.
Yippe! It’s that time of year where the days get shorter and there’s a fire in the fire place and we can’t help but dress us our furbees in festive holiday garb! And we think that’s worth a party, a Holiday Picture Party that is!
We’ve created a special photo upload area so you can post a photo of you pet that’s special just to the holidays. We’re just launching this as I type so you’ll be one of the first people to have a snowman on your pet’s page linking to their holiday page. Soon we’ll have a whole stroll set up so they can parade by in all their holiday glory! Just remember to join the party you’ll have to post a holiday themed photo to get admission to the party!
Sometimes, it’s some of the smallest tasks that are the last to get done. I can recall putting the site live in January and thinking, wow people are really growing big corrals and friend lists, I should make it easier to see them. So, it’s with great pleasure that I can finally cross off the task off the lists. Now when there are more than a pageful of pets to see, you can scroll through sub pages one after the next like Gooooooogle results. Even better, I still intend to make the corrals and pals sortable by alphabet, order added, random, and such.Look for that soon. Let me know if you think something is missing!
I love running this site. I really do. However, kenneling 65,000 pets and serving 10 million pages a month is getting expensive. Early on I decided to offer budget priced advertising to just pet-positive companies. Unfortunately even at really reduced rates, I couldn’t find enough advertisers to support the site.
So I had to start getting creative. A lot of the ads you see are actually links to companies that will give us a small payment for any products you buy on their sites. The price is the same but we get a part of it! Our entire list of partners is here. We’re also about to release a new services that can likely help fill our coffer with a little more kibble.
But have no fear, everything we offer now will remain free. In fact there are so many dogalicious and cattastic new free features being worked on it’s a wonder we ever get any sleep. But we just can’t help ourselves, it’s so much fun to design them. If there’s anything you want to bark or meow about on advertising or anything, by all means please do. This is your site as much as it’s anyone’s.
