  It takes three months for a young cat’s sleeping pattern to establish itself – and a newborn kitten will sleep pretty much day and night during that period. This sleep pattern probably evolved as a safety mechanism for survival, since a little defenseless kitten was better off asleep in the den than out roaming around.

  A cat who was spoiled with attention as a kitten has unrealistic expectations. If a kitten is showered with attention when he or she is little, if can turn him or her into a demanding and greedy adult cat. Love your kitty when small, but try not to go overboard!

  When a kitty is little it might seem funny that he or she nibbles on your fingers, but cats have sharp teeth and in excitement can bite hard enough to break the skin and really hurt you. So if a kitten does bite you, say “No!” sharply, stand up and walk away.
