Your cat spends much of her time home alone. Even though you’ve bought all kinds of toys, things can still get a little boring. You have the makings of some really fun activities already in your home, they just need a little tweaking.
Cats love paper bags and there’s a way to make them more fun. First, cut the bottoms of a few handle-free bags and roll a one inch cuff on each end to make them sturdier. Then cut at least one cat-size hole in the side of one of the bags for use as a sideways escape hole. Next, tape the bags together to form a long tunnel. Sprinkle catnip in the bags or toss in a few treats or toys. Without any expense you’ve created a fun cat tunnel! Do this with boxes too. This paper tunnel is a firetrap. I would never allow my cat to play in it without supervision.
SUCH a great idea…..my cats are all enjoying this one and taking turns with who ‘hides’ inside and who, from outside, attacks the ‘monster’ inside. Got another idea from this one: using the empty cardboard 12-pac boxes-too fun!
My Kitty likes Walmart plastic bags…..I wad them up into a ball and use a handle to keep it together. I think she uses them to take her frustrations out on Walmart….LOL
Barbara, what would catch this on fire if there were no open flames?
