Before you ever start trying to trim your cat’s nails, take the time to get her accustomed to you touching and examining the feet. Once she’s relaxed about that, hold the clippers against her claws without using them. Examine her claws so you get comfortable seeing where the “quick” is inside the nail so you know where not to cut when you do eventually give her a pedicure. |

Yes, yes, yes… It works too !
Also what else works in addition to this, is providing your babe’s with a little treat immediately after, that’s something they won’t forget for sure !
I totally agree!! It does wonders if they are use to having their paws touched first.
That’s one thing I don’t like to trim their nails. I’m always afraid I’ll go to far and hurt them. We have 6 cats and the only two that gives us a hard time is Flower and Littlebit. Bambi,Scamp, Lady don’t mind getting their nails done. I just have to catch them when they are relaxed. We have new kitten and I haven’t even tried to trim her nails. She’s a busy body. Trouble gets so exhuaed she sleeps right where she done playing. Her and Littlebit are best of friends. I thought littebit would give us a hard time with a new kitten, I was wrong. Anyway I’ll talk to ya later
Please take a peek at the nail trimming instructions in THE CAT BIBLE – it is really so much easier than you imagine- just a gentle touch underneath the paw pad makes the nail come out, and all you snip with a human finger nail clipper is the very curved part of the tip, nothing more than that.
