Cat Tips

July 8th, 2009

You like your produce fresh, we like our ‘nip fresh – it’s that easy.

For those of us who like to hit up a little catnip every now and then (and keep in mind that’s only about 60% of us), we like it fresh. So if you’ve got a bag of old stuff in the closet that’s been there for several months… toss it and buy some new stuff. Such an action will be highly appreciated.

It always helps to crush the catnip between your fingers to further release the aroma! Some cats like fresh leaves from the plant stalk (it is easy to grow and stands 3-4 feet tall!); my cats must be retards as they were attracted by the scent but then didn’t know what to do with the fresh green leaves but they go bonkers over the dried variety. Wonder if you can bundle it and dry it like lavender and herbs?

We have been growing Catmint. It is beautiful and the neighbor kitties like it. Diego & LuLu mostly only like the Yeowww.

Too bad many of us Aussie kitties do not react to nip. It is said that the gene has been bred out of us because of our isolation and strict quarantine laws.
