  People staying at your house can accidentally leave a door or window open and your cat will be gone. If you have guests who do not seem to understand the gravity of this issue, then put a sign on the doors and windows to remind them – something friendly like “If you let the cat out, I will let you out. ;-)

    All the more reason to make SURE YOUR CATS ARE TAGGED OR MICROCHIPPED!

    You never know when someone less diligent than you is going to let your animal escape!

    You are right on the money with that – we take our kitty cats way too much for granted in the identification department. And speaking of microchips, I have found out they are NOT all alike.. Many require a yearly fee, without which the animal isn’t protected. AVID is by far the most reliable chip with a lifetime registration and technological dependability.
