When a kitty is little it might seem funny that he or she nibbles on your fingers, but cats have sharp teeth and in excitement can bite hard enough to break the skin and really hurt you. So if a kitten does bite you, say “No!” sharply, stand up and walk away.

Hi Noel! Your curious little kitty is trying to play with you- they explore with their mouths and paws. So you need to give her something else to nibble on instead of your body parts so she learns what are acceptable objects to put in her mouth! Say “No” firmly but gently and then get a couple of little cats toys (some new ecologically-correct ones from Australia (or is it New Zealand??) are made of leather and can be really satisfying to gnaw on, some cats have told me). There are so many oddball things our kittens like to do – “The Cat Bible” explains many of them and how to manage it.
