  Always check whether urine has soaked through to the carpet padding or the floor below – with fresh deposits you can see or feel the moisture, but a black light will tell you whether old urine marking has affected the underside. Keep in mind that everywhere urine has touched needs to be treated. You have to remove all traces of urine and its odor or the cat will want to go back to that location for a “repeat performance.”
