It can be really irritating to have a cat who insists on jumping up on your kitchen counters and trying to get at the food you’re cooking. If he does it when you’re in the kitchen preparing food, you may be able to discourage him by saying “No” very sharply and loudly while clapping your hands together at him to drive him off. Make sure you are not feeding him little snacks while you’re cooking, because that simply teaches him to jump and beg. |

I do not beg for food. I am above that. I do like yogurt, but I don’t even beg for that anymore. People food is not better than Iams.
I do expect my fish food treat on a daily basis as a reward for reminding the forgetful humans to feed the fish.
LOL-we’ve had cats like this-no doubt and clapping hands and saying no’ or get down definitely helps.
The rest just encourages them to disobey supposedly lol.
